To create this piece, I met with the client and used my intuition to tune into her energy. I began to randomly and intuitively draw on the paper with the pastels. I just let my hands be guided without thinking of anything. Then I used my hands to smudge or rub the pastels in order to blend them into the paper slightly. (See "Before" picture above) I sat the paper with the pastel smudges in front of me. I turned the paper upside down and around until I saw a face of an angel which caught my eye. I looked at the pastel smudges like I would look at clouds and see shapes in them.

Once I see a shape or face, pastel pencils are used to draw in the details and to enhance the images. I continue to look at the drawing to see angels and shapes and then add more detail until I feel the work is finished. The final artwork reveals images of angels and people with energy and light swirling around them. (See "After" picture above). The special trick to make the images really glow is to use white pastel on the highlights. The use of black paper really makes any bright color stand out vividly. During the drawing process I usually get impressions from the angels represented in the drawing and give a written interpretation of the artwork and any insights I receive. I feel that the angels assist me in the creation of the art commissions. These works are created especially for each client as a representation of their personal soul energy and the energy of their angels.
